Post Partum Weight Loss Journey

Brett introduced me to the Fitness World in 2005...I was hooked instantly!

I had always been a thin girl from being involved in high school athletics, but the world of lifting weights and cardio were very foreign to me! Once I started seeing body changes I knew that I would forever have fitness as a part of my life!

Once I became pregnant, I knew I wanted to stay in shape. Not only for myself and a faster recovery but for my baby!

During Pregnancy

Post Partum Weight loss Journey

Right after I delivered I sat down with my Dr. and asked him the fastest way to loose the baby weight. He said something very interesting to me..."If you do not loose all of your baby weight by 6 months, 99% of the time you will always struggle with an extra 10lbs"

Holy Moly I did not want that to be me!

I then ask when can I start working out and he said after 1 week!
So....

1 Week post partum, I bundle up my baby girl and hit the pavement, we start with 1/2 mile and kept adding a 1/2 mile everyday. By 2 weeks post partum I was walking between 3-5 miles daily.
(remember you do not have to do anything crazy, just walk slowly!)

at 6 weeks post partum I decided to take on the "insanity" Challenge! OMG! I had been working out for years and this KICKED MY BUTT.  I even threw up twice! As the weeks went on I was able to make it through a whole DVD!

Also at 6 weeks post partum I began taking Advocare supplements...and NO not the 24 day Challenge, the only thing I was using daily was Spark and ThermoPlus.

Currently at 9 months Post Partum, I completed Insanity twice, and am now on Les Mills Pump to rebuild all the muscle I lost during pregnancy! I absolutely LOVE this workout serious...I am continuing with Cardio, at LEAST 1 mile a day, twice a week I do 5 miles Run/Jog/Walk(Depends on my mood)

I am still taking Advocare, ThermoPlus, Catalyst, OmegaPlex, Spark....and I am getting ready to try some new supplements in 2 weeks :)!

Post Partum Diet!
Immediately returning from the hospital I ate 800 calories a day until 8 Weeks post Partum( this is probably not safe for most people, but I wanted my weight gone Fast!) I now eat 1200-1500 calories a day, which is where I am supposed to be at for my height and weight, I do allow myself 1 cheat meal a week. Usually CARBS mmm.mmm. I do not drink alcohol(except on special occasions) and I do not eat Fast Food(Not saying I haven't at all, maybe 3 times max since I delivered)!
